teddy bears in tutus

Check out these teddy bears! They were so fun to make. I fashioned them out of gumpaste and then attached their pink tutus--also out of gumpaste. The one climbing up the side of the cake is attached with royal icing. She stayed secure even on the bumpy ride across town. This cake was delicious chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream speckled with dark chocolate shavings.

brushed embroidery and gumpaste flowers

I covered this cake with blush pink fondant. I used white royal icing to create the embroidered floral design. The ivory peonies, roses, berries, and leaves I made from gumpaste. Satin navy ribbon and a romantic Willow Tree figurine complete the look.

birthday balloons

This was a fun cake to make. The bottom tier was orange vanilla cream; the top tiers were lemon with lemon buttercream. I covered the cakes with sky blue fondant and then painted on a silhouette of the little boy and girl. I cut out 48 colorful gumpaste circles for the balloons. For the clouds I cut flowers out of white fondant and then rolled the "flowers" flat and into cloud shapes. Everything came together with puffy royal icing trim.
